It was very nice and clean. It wasn't expensive. Great location right next to the beach and you can jump onto a tram which will take you to the city center within about 15 min.

We were centrally located to the main strip of St Kilda Beach. A stroll away from some of Melbourne's great restaurants and not so famous ones. Alot of choices of bars to choose from.
